To be unemployed

Teacher: Page 22, please. Lesson 2.C. We’re going to complete this inteview. Look at the photos of Sue, read the text and match the questions with her answers. Work in pairs, if you want.

Minutos más tarde, y después de la corrección.

Teacher: Well, now we’re going to say what’s good and bad in our jobs. Casio, can you tell your experiencie, please?

Casio: Well, I’m a waiter. It has very good things like meet new people every day. I don’t know what’s bad in my job. Maybe the hours I have to go to work. Only this.

Teacher: Another people, for example... persiana*?

Persiana: Umm... Well, now I’m looking for a job...

Teacher: –dirigiéndose a el resto de los alumnos, menos a persiana, que queda como al margen-: Oh! Good! She is looking for a job!! Good! Do you know the meaning of this expression? “looking for a job”’

Alumnos: No

Profesor escribe en la pizarra: “Look for= buscar”.

Teacher: Well, it’s a very good expression. And, when someone is looking for a job we must say he is unemployed.

Profesor escribe en la pizarra, en letras grandes: “Unemployed= en paro”

Teacher: In this case, is persiana*, so we must say “she”, not “he”. She is unemployed. Well, persiana* is unemployed.

Quedó claro. Persiana quiere meterse debajo de la mesa y desaparecer por unos segundos.
